Pakistan and the Netherlands’ T20I series originally scheduled for May 2024, postponed due to scheduling issues on PCB’s request.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) took a proactive stance by formally approaching the Royal Dutch Cricket Association (KNCB) and requesting to reschedule the series.
The major goal is to relieve the pressure on an increasingly full cricket calendar, resulting in a more manageable and viable schedule.
Both cricket boards are currently looking into scheduling alternatives in order to find a suitable period to reschedule the T20I series. While disappointed by the postponement, Roland Lefebrve, KNCB’s High-Performance Manager, expressed understanding of the circumstances.
“We’re obviously disappointed but, of course, we understand the situation, and remain optimistic a new window will be found to play the series either at home or away.”
Initially, a three-match T20I series scheduled for early May, coming up to Pakistan’s 2024 tour of Ireland and England.
However, The tight timetable, exacerbated by Pakistan’s five-match home T20I series against New Zealand in April, left little room for the European tour’s Dutch leg.
As a result, the PCB decided to seek rescheduling in order to ensure a reasonable and practical cricketing calendar.
Pakistan’s critical T20I matches with Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, and England coming up in 2024, this decision should considered.
In the meantime, both cricket boards are working hard to find another opportunity to play this series.
