Sri Lanka and Pakistan will host the 2023 Asia Cup: here’s the schedule, venue details, and fixture list.
A hybrid Asia Cup will take place for the first time in 2023. In this edition, the tournament will feature ODIs for the 16th time.
Team list for Asia Cup 2023
There will be six teams participating in the tournament: Sri Lanka, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Nepal.
Asia Cup 2023: Format
During the tournament, two groups will be formed. Two teams will qualify from each group for the Super Four stage. A final will be held between the top two teams from the Super Fours. A total of 13 ODIs will be played.
Dates for Asia Cup 2023
From August 31 to September 17, the tournament will take place.
Venues for Asia Cup 2023
Due to BCCI and PCB’s stances on hosting Asia Cup in Pakistan, there has been considerable discussion and debate over the tournament’s venues. In 2020, the Pakistan Cricket Board decided to let Sri Lanka hold the Asia Cup. It was, however, postponed repeatedly due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Sri Lanka hosted the 2022 edition, with Pakistan hosting the 2023 edition.
In response, BCCI reaffirmed its stance that Indian players would not play in Pakistan, and it has been back-and-forth ever since.
A hybrid model will now be used to host the Asia Cup in 2023.There will be nine matches in Sri Lanka, and four in Pakistan.

Now that the venues for the Asia Cup have been announced, the World Cup fixtures should also be announced shortly. In case Asia Cup matches aren’t held in Pakistan, Pakistan may boycott the World Cup.
