For the third consecutive year, Pakistan’s passport ranks “fourth worst” in this year’s Henley Passport Index, which ranks the world’s 199 passports based on how many countries their owners can visit without a visa.
According to the latest Henley Passport Index ranking, Pakistan only ranks higher than Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan in terms of travel documents.
Pakistan’s passport allows the bearer to travel visa-free to 33 states, Syria’s to 30, Iraq’s to 29 and Afghanistan’s to 29. Singapore is on top, as its passport provides visa-free travel to 192 countries.
190 destinations are accessible through each passport from Germany, Italy, and Spain, which tied for 2nd place.
Japan topped the list in 2022 but now ranks third. The country is ranked alongside Austria, Finland, France, Luxembourg, South Korea, and Sweden, whose passports allow visa-free travel to 189 countries.
The US has seen the biggest drop in its ranking, falling from 2nd to 8th over the past decade.
