A federal cabinet subcommittee has recommended that the names of PTI Chairman Imran Khan and 28 others be placed on the Exit Control List (ECL) in connection with the Al-Qadir Trust case.
Allegations of financial irregularities and land acquisition from Bahria Town appear in the case, causing legal issues for the political leader.
According to the Al-Qadir Trust case, PTI Chairman Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, got a lot of money and land from Bahria Town Ltd in order to legalize a previously identified Rs50 billion returned to Pakistan by the UK during the previous PTI government.
Imran Khan, who faced arrest in this case earlier this year, is facing new legal difficulties.
The suggestions came up by the group following a meeting attended by interim Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti and officials from several departments.
Based on the NAB’s recommendation, the Ministry of Interior said on X (previously Twitter) that the committee recommended putting the names of 29 people, including Imran Khan, on the ECL.

This decision is links to the £190 million scandal involving the Al-Qadir Trust.
Concurrently, suggestions appeared to remove 13 instances from the list in response to court requests and revision appeals. The recommendations of the committee are now awaiting approval from the federal cabinet.
The Al-Qadir Trust case, which emerged earlier this year, focuses on allegations filed by former interior minister Rana Sanaullah.
In a money laundering case, he accused Imran Khan and his wife of receiving payments and land to preserve Bahria Town. The case also contains allegations of a “illegal transfer” of Rs50 billion by Bahria Town, which found by the UK’s National Crime Agency.
The ongoing legal processes continue to shadow over Imran Khan’s political career, with the federal cabinet now responsible with decide the fate of the ECL recommendations.
