Shiraz Ahmad Ranjha, Imran Khan’s lawyer, has firmly disputed reports of the former Prime Minister’s slow poisoning while in prison, in response to recent allegations spreading on social media.
These reports, according to Imran Khan’s Lawyer, are unsubstantiated and without validity.
However, Ranjha did admit Imran Khan’s increased safety worries as a result of two earlier assassination attempts on the PTI Chairman. These worries generally focus around the possibility of exposure to a slow-acting toxin. It’s important to clarify that these worries are about Imran Khan’s safety and well-being, not any verified charges of gradual poisoning.
Imran Khan is currently in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail.
His legal history includes past detention at Attock Jail following his August 5 conviction in the presents repository case.
On May 9, the former Prime Minister arrested by the National Accountability Bureau from within the high court in Islamabad on charges of corruption relating to the Al-Qadir Trust, which he owns.
He remained imprisoned in Attock District Jail since then, and recently transferred to Adiala Jail.
Imran Khan argues that he got wrongfully charged in these cases and is motivated to defend his name.
