As Pakistan prepares for its next cricketing challenge—a three-match Test series against Australia from December 14, 2023 to January 7, 2024 in Australia. The team’s coaching staff will undergo changes.
The decision follows Pakistan’s withdrawal from the Cricket World Cup, where the squad fell short of reaching the semi-finals for the second time in a row. The team suffered setbacks, notably a crushing loss to India in Ahmedabad and a surprise loss to Afghanistan.
Following the team’s early exit, both fans and former cricketers criticized it, underlining the need for significant improvements.
Meanwhile, Morne Morkel’s departure from his coaching position adds another layer to the current concerns over the team’s future direction.
Besides, It’s worth noting that the cricketing situation is currently changing, and this departure comes on the heels of Inzamamul Haq’s retirement as chief selector of the cricket team last month.
According to media sources, Inzamamul Haq’s decision took place by his participation with a player’s management organization registered with the PCB.
As Pakistan begins a new chapter in its cricketing history, all eyes will be on the nomination of Morne Morkel’s replacement and the changes the team will make in preparation for the next Test series against Australia.
